This fire curtain in fire class EW 60/EW 90, is primarily intended to separate fire cell boundaries between two spaces in the event of a fire. The purpose is to prevent the fire from spreading to other spaces/premises. The delivery includes a control cabinet that takes care of the signals going in and out, as well as two sets of optical and acoustic alarm sensors to be mounted on both sides of the opening. The fire curtain is normally controlled by a fire alarm system, but can also be controlled by an independent alarm system or detectors. Fire class EW is not permitted for use in emergency escape routes. Closing in the event of a fire alarm signal or power failure must be done with a gravity self-closing motor, a so-called Failsafe motor. Closing in the event of a fire signal or power failure must not take place with a requirement for power or battery power/UPS.
Electrical Failsafe is not allowed.
